Vivienne has worked with the beauty industry for 20 years, first as a journalist and then as an analyst at Mintel.

Vivienne started her beauty career in 1996 as deputy editor of the leading trade journal Soap, Perfumery & Cosmetics (SPC) and its Asian and Latin American supplements, where she reported on trends, corporate developments and technological advances.

She was appointed editor of its sister publication, European Cosmetic Markets (ECM), in 2000, where she focused on market research.

Vivienne then moved to a news-based publication and took up the editorship of Cosmetics International.

She joined Mintel in 2010 to author its new European beauty reports and shortly after joined the team responsible for building the BPC platform. For two years she was managing editor of the platform, before taking up her current role in 2014.

As Director of Innovation & Insight for Beauty & Personal Care, Vivienne creates and delivers bespoke trend presentations to clients around the world. She also works closely with the consultancy team on client projects, advising them on product development, merchandising and distribution, as well as creating content for the Mintel BPC platform.

Vivienne also takes clients on ‘Retail Safaris’, showing them the latest and most interesting stores in London, explaining how products on the shelves fit with emerging and current beauty trends. She has presented at conferences throughout Europe and in the US, Latin America and Asia Pacific, and has been interviewed by print, online and broadcast media.
